1970's OVERLAND Shearling Sheepskin Coat from Overland Sheepskin in Taos New Mexico / Size 44 / Heavy Duty Warmth // Men's Size Large
Overland Sheepskin Co. is one of the nations premiere clothing manufacturers who specialize in sheepskin, leather, fur and wool. They also design and sell lifestyle and home products that best represent Western Americana. The company began in 1973 when Jim Leahy opened his first shop in Taos, New Mexico. Upon doing some research for this coat I decided to call the company and ask about the label. The person stated that since it is handwritten (in pen!) it could very well be one of the first coats made in Taos and it was most certainly made by the man who began the company. This is not only a wonderful coat but it is true piece of American fashion history.
