Authentic 1979 Wayne Gretzky Edmonton Oilers Jersey with Memorial '79 Shoulder Patch
The jersey is in perfect condition, the last time I took it out of storage was about 20+ years ago. The patches and numbers are all sewn on.
What can I say? The Great One. Edmonton Oilers of the 80's were one of the best organizations the NHL ever had and while making 4 make Cup runs Gretzky piled up record after record. He is hands down the greatest offensive player to ever lace up skates (he was actually a pretty damn good 2-way player to boot). This jersey does not have the captain's "C" on it because The White Tornado wasn't made captain until the 1983 campaign. Paul Shmyr was captain from 1977–79, Ron Chipperfield in 1979–80 with Blair MacDonald and Lee Fogolin filling out the rest of the years until Gretz took the lead.
